VIDEO OF ÁFRICA: ACTIVITIES
- Where in the world is Africa? África is a continent situated in the south of Europe and southwest of Asia
- How many times is Africa larger than The United States? 30 million square kilometers
- How is the savanna defined in the video? The savanna is a grassy plain wich covers nearly half os África. The savanna is characterized by scattered trees among a landscape of grasses and shrubs.
- Which animals can be found in the savanna biome? Giraffes and elephants
- Where is located the chaparral biome in Africa? The chaparral is located in the north and south of África.
- Which are the most famous deserts in Africa? The Sahara desert, Namib desert and Kalahari desert.

1. Africa runs 5 000 miles from the Mediterranean sea all the way down to cape of good hope and 4 600 miles from cape Verde all the way over to Somalia

3. The most famous desert in Africa is, of course, the Sahara desert. Now, some parts of the Sahara desert are sandy, like you can see here. Other parts of the Sahara desert are rocky but in either case, the fact that it is very dry is going to make it a very difficult period to cross.
4. It is not the rain itself that’s particularly important, it’s also the enviroment There are many different plants and animal species That can be found in the rain forest and that’s one of the thing that makes the rain forest so valuable not just in Africa but throughout the Earth.
5. The Nile is the most famous river in Africa, because is the longest river in the world. But there is also the Congo which is the ninth longest river in the world.
6. Africa actually has its own version of the great lakes with famous lakes like Lake Tanganika, lake Malawi and lake Victoria.
7. All the Africa is a plateau. Meaning that Africa itself is an elevated land. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find any mountains in Africa. You can find mountain ranges like, for example, the Atlas in northwestern Africa.
8. Africa also has some interesting mountains like Kilimanjaro mountain, the highest peak in Africa which seems to just rise on it own out of the ground.
9. The Great Rift Valley refers to a region of Africa that is literally, being split apart. There are some tectonic plates that are located within or near Africa, that are, actually, moving away from each other, and what’s doing is creating not just some of the highest elevations in Africa, but also lakes like Tanganyka.

SELF-ASSESSMENT :)
- What can I do that I couldn't do before? I have learned to use the blog.
- What did I like most? I really like the idea of doing the portfolio in the blog, I find it an entertaining and interesting way of doing it. I also liked the dynamics of the clases.
- What did I do well? I think that I have improved some things about english.
- What are my greatest strengths and weaknesses? My gretest strength is grammar and the weaknesses are listening and vocabulary.
- What am I confused about? Nothing
- What do I need help with? Sometimes with the speaking, becouse I'm shameful.
- What did I do in English outside the class? I have heard songs and also I watched a movie in english but with subtitles because it is a little hard to understand
- What do I need to improve? To be more attentive of new posts of the blogs.
- What did I learn about culture? In class and in the blogs I have learned many things. Like cultures of other countries and also everyday things.
